1.      The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible is the top most selling book ever. It was written around 1451-1255 by various authors, has sold more than 6 billion copies and still counting.  The Holy Bible is a compilation of religious content of Christianity and Judaism. Content of the bible has varied as the years passed and due to religious denominations. There are two major divisions, the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible.
2.     Quotations from Chairman Mao
The “Quotations from Chairman Mao” was written by Mao Tse-Tung in the year 1966. It sold 900,000,000 copies. It contains the special sayings of Mao Tse-Tung from his speeches and writings. It is known by “The Little Red Book” as it was printed in small size with red cover page for distribution in the West. It contains 427 quotations by Mao.
3.     The American Spelling Book
This book was written by Noah Webster in 1783 and sold up to 100,000,000 copies. It took Webster 27 years to complete the book and had to learn 26 languages including German, Greek, Latin, Spanish, and French etc. His book had 27 thousand words among which 12 thousand were new and had not been in any dictionary before. He was the one who introduced American English spellings, e.g. “colour with color” “favour” with “favor” and so on.
4.     Guinness Book of World Records
Guinness Book of World Records was written by Mark C. Young in the year 1955. It sold more than 90,000,000 copies worldwide. The book is a compilation of world records including human achievements and extremes of nature. In USA, its the most common book stolen from public libraries.
5.     World Almanac
The World Almanac was written by its various editors in 1868 and sold 73,500,000 copies. This book contains information on world changes, sports, tragedies etc. It was a bestseller in 2011 on Washington Post.
